LETTER FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL
Dear Esteemed Delegates,
Welcome to RISC III! My name is Liam Carroll, and I am honored to serve as your Secretary-General for the Rutgers International Security Council. On behalf of our Secretariat and our entire team, it is my pleasure to invite you all to our third iteration of RISC, which will take place from November 12th to November 15th.
For the past two years, RISC has served as the most affordable conference on the collegiate Model United Nations circuit, and this year is no exception. We are committed to maintaining this accessibility because we believe that cost should never be a barrier to participation. Our Secretariat has worked hard to ensure that every delegate, regardless of background, has the opportunity to grow as a speaker, negotiator, and leader.
At RISC, we aim to offer unique committees that reward delegates for their creativity and thoughtful diplomacy. Our newest slate of committees for RISC III is designed to do exactly that. The majority of our crisis simulations will feature tailored committee mechanics, each of which has been carefully designed to fit its respective committees and elevate the experience. Whether delegates are balancing the NJ Devils’ budget in our Board of Directors’ committee or competing in literal popularity contests as part of our Mean Girls committee, we hope that these simulations will challenge delegates to forge innovative and diplomatic solutions with their peers.
Our team has been working hard these past few months to make RISC III the best conference it can be. If you have any questions about conference registration or just want recommendations for the best places to eat in New Brunswick, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are incredibly excited to welcome you to RISC III, and hope to see you on the banks of the Old Raritan this November!
Sincerely,
Liam Carroll
Secretary-General, RISC III
